Petrol prices cut by Rs. 1, Diesel prices reduced by Rs 2 from 16th August The new prices which includes international crude oil prices,INR-USD exchange rate and state levies, will come into effective midnight of August 15,2016 and August 16,2016.

Petrol in Delhi will cost Rs 60.09 per litre from mid-night of 15th/16th of August 2016. Similarly, a litre of diesel will cost Rs 50.27.

After this revision, a litre of petrol will cost Rs 60.09/litre in Delhi; Rs 64.18 in Kolkata; Rs 65.04 in Mumbai, and Rs 59.65 in Chennai, said Indian Oil Corporation.

The price of diesel per litre will be Rs 50.27 in Delhi, Rs 52.86 in Kolkata, Rs 55.64 in Mumbai and Rs.51.65 in Chennai.

"The movement of prices in international oil market and rupee-dollar exchange rate shall continue to be closely monitored and developing trends of the market will be reflected in future price changes," said Indian Oil Corporation in a statement.

The average price of petrol around the country is Rs 62.24 per liter, and The average price of diesel around the country is Rs 52.60 per liter.
